Yesterday C-SPAN broadcast an Obama rally at UCLA featuring Oprah Winfrey, Caroline Kennedy, Maria Shiver, Michelle Obama and Maria Elena Durazo, Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the Local LA AFL/CIO. Whereas, I respect the achievements of all of these women, I was upset by the emotional speeches they each gave about why everyone should vote for Barck Obama. No one gave any substantiated facts about his record nor about the methods he would use to "achieve the greatness he promises for America". All I saw in the audience was the wide-eyed wonderment of the sheep who cheered the elevated cadences of these women's speeches. Apparently shouting always makes the speaker believable.
