Help keep those path-breaking apprentices down on the Farm — by sharing in the many local and Bay Area Grow a Farmer events all focused on building residential cottages for those who come to study at the UCSC Center for Agroecology.
The romantic tents nestling along the tree-lined fence are about to become things of the past. In order to keep the on-site living quarters that allow this amazing program its intensity and effectiveness, money (yes, $$$) must be raised — $250,000 by June 2009.
You’ll find restaurants and other businesses involved in raising funds, by going to the handsome Grow a Farmer website. And then dig in!
Check back often during the next two months for more delicious details on this vigorous grass roots effort.
Thanks for promoting this campaign, Christina, SO much. And thanks for the compliment on the website.
: D
I’m looking forward to Gabriella’s event on May 13: now that they have a new chef, I can eat there again. (And work on the website, for my dear friend, Paul.)
Maybe I’ll see you at the May 6 poetry event at Capitola Book Café.
Cheers,
Tana
