That would be the succulent, hearty, beautifully-executed pizzas at Pizzeria Avanti, such as this beauty topped with fresh mozzarella, fresh heirloom tomato sauce, basil and housemade Italian sausage.
$12 for the pie + $4 for the sausage.
What’s not to like?
Well it certainly seems that ones Pizza cravings can now be well satisfied with these new venues offering what look like some delicious offerings. Just wondering when we might see a truly superb hamburger made available locally. Six ounces of grass fed beef freshly ground on the premises 20% fat for flavor, well seasoned and properly grilled over coals, served on a homemade bun with some skinny crisp pomme frittes on the side and some good red wines on offer. Besides my house of course.
ummmmmmm burgers……..we can dream.

Do I detect a trace of sarcasm over America’s greatest contribution to gastronomy?
Do you mock my current craving?
Is it a sin to tire of haute cuisine and the dozens of choices of differing cuisine’s from around the world available to us in
and around the Bay Area?
Sometimes it’s those simple things we crave and yet they elude us, that perfect espresso with a thick layer of crema, that
perfect slice with just the right balance of cheese to sauce, even a perfect burger perhaps and for some, a well aged
Twinkie or HoHo?
You can find that great grass fed burger at Suda with a delicious bun from La Brea Bakery.
